You wanted more, you got it!
In order to pull off my next "invasion", I'm going to have to wake up really early tomorrow (5:00am); it's going to be a very tight foot-race against all those receptionists. There are a few crutial elements to make all this work, but I can't tell you until it's complete. Wish me luck!

"Ad Guy - If you cannot post the web address then why don't you send Alek an email with the link, so he can see what is being said about him in this private back room of advertising.

What difference will that make? You are not broadcasting the address to everyone that way.

You brought the thing up, and I respect the fact that you did that, but if I were Alek, I would SO want to read what was being said, if for no other reason than to learn from it, and improve myself."

"advertising shouldn't be black and white....throw in a little red or blue here or there..

(for those who dont know what I mean...red or blue would be things like what Alek is doing to get himself recognized)

Be different. Do something that stands out. Keep doing what your doing..."

"Only time will tell "AD GUY".

Anybody can make a turn-around, even you.
I actually feel privileged that I'm being talked about within the mysterious circles (too bad I don't know what they're saying). They'll just have to meet me to change their judgement. Do you have a list?

Thanx for your observation."

"I can't post the address.....if you get in to an agency, someone there may let you know about it. That wasn't the point of my post. I was just giving an insiders view as to how these "invasions" are coming off. Did I criticiize Alek for doing them....no....all I'm saying is that there is such a thing as bad publicity. Even if he get's in somewhere, the creatives he will work with have seen him in a negative light. That doesn't help your career later on down the road unless you can do some kick-ass creative and judging by his book...."

"Rethink pays shit money. Apparently there's some way to use awards to pay your rent."

"Can I contact an ad guy for more free advice?"

"Hey ad guy,
This guy seems to be working hard to do things different than what your chat group thinks. Anyways, since when does Rethink make the advertising laws of the land?"

"One thing is key (besides having a great book) and that is being remembered. Your book doesn't always do that by itself (they do see a lot of people after all) and they most often don't have a position open right away. I commend Alek for taking the steps that he has to get a job in this crazy industry. I am looking myself and it is not easy. And I've enjoyed reading about someone else who is doing the same. Thanks~"

"Okay Alek...here's the deal, there's a chat room website (that you don't know about) for people that work in the industry and I can honestly tell you that there are alot of creatives out there working at these agencies that beleive that your "invasions" don't make you look too good. If you really want a job, do as people tell you and redo your book. Take a look at Rethink's website. They have a portfolio of a student that just got hired and that is exactly what they are looking for. Oh....and there's a quote on that site that says something along the lines of.... if you do a cheesy stunt, your resume will end up in the shredder."
