Grey Update with Marc Stoiber!

Sorry guys for keeping you waiting! I'm sure you all want to find out how it went.

Here we go... I arrived at the office at 9:30, feeling relaxed and confident. I still couldn't believe that I was actually meeting up with Marc Stoiber; a well respected individual all over the place, who's very much involved in our community. He's the guy, along with Staples and Grais, that turned it around for Palmer Jarvis West. He's also a strong supporter of -ihaveanidea.org-. In addition, he invests a lot of his time for young guns. That's awesome!

So about the meeting. As soon as he opened my book his eyes nearly popped out! No joke. He was really impressed with my Glade executions (roses and mountain). He also loved my Climbing Academy concepts (I guess everyone does). The Olay soap and Simply Sleep ads were also taken well. He told me to fix up my Scotia TV spot (it's not on the site). Overall, he thought my book was very STRONG. And he was also amazed with Alek Journals.

His advice: If you get an opportunity to work for a smaller shop, take it. No one is stopping you from doing great work! He likes being the UNDERDOG.

This feedback session was very valuable to me. Once again, it's a re-assurance to know that I'm on the right track. If you haven't met him yet, I'd suggest you do. He's got a lot of energy and he's not affraid to speak the truth.

"Thanks for the nice write up. But for the record, putting me in the same league as Chris Staples and Ian Grais as the guy that turned PJ around is grossly unfair to Chris and Ian. I was just working for Chris - he was the one who, with great help from people like Ron Woodall and Ian, turned PJ.

Other than that, pretty fair assessment of our talk. It's nice to see people really trying to make a difference with websites like ihaveanidea, and contributions like the 'interview diaries'. Good luck.
