If you can believe what the many agencies
that he has worked with have to say about him, Mike is a
great client. He believes in the power of branding and effective
brand communication in building businesses, and he loves
and endorses great creative. As a marketer he and his teams
have been honoured with numerous awards for advertising creativity
and effectiveness including several CASSIE awards, the industry
awards for business building effectiveness, for work on such
venerable brands as Dove, Sunlight, Becel, Lipton and Knorr.
Currently consulting to various companies, Mike earlier
this year left Unilever where he spent most of the past 18
years leading marketing efforts in various home & personal
care products and food categories within Canada and Europe,
and as a member of various North American and global brand
teams. In addition to his marketing experience Mike also
gained cross-functional experience leading the Logistics
and Purchasing functions for the former Lever Brothers in
the early 1990’s.
Mike has been an active participant on many industry boards
with a focus on helping to make those boards as effective
and as efficient as possible. That list includes having been
Vice-Chair of the Association of Canadian Advertisers, a
Board member of BBM Canada, and a Board member of Advertising
Standards Canada (where he led a task force last year that
led to revisions to the code to allow a more generous interpretation
of the use of humour and fantasy in advertising creative).
Mike is a graduate of the Ivey School of Business at the
University of Western Ontario
In the little spare time that all of that allows, Mike enjoys
spending time with family and friends and has been known
to hit a pretty long golf ball…some of them even landing
on the fairway. |
