2005 Clio TV Shortlist
May 23|2005

To watch, or not watch, three hours of the TV shortlist? That is the question.

While it was really tough for me to convince myself to get out of the sun near the pool to sit in a dark room and watch the ‘All-day screening of the 2005 Clio TV Shortlist’, I figured as a gambling man I had better have a look at the ponies before I place my bets.

Now other than the sheer difficulty of staying inside with such beautiful weather to enjoy in Miami I was relatively pleased with what the judges had chosen for this years shortlist. Even though most of the spots I had seen before. Although a few surprise that made it worthwhile to see the entire reel. Of particular note for you Canuck agencies, every single Canadian spot was met with loud laughter, really loud laughter, and not the business chuckle usually reserved for client meetings. It was nice to hear.

I really enjoyed the work from Germany and Japan probably the most because I hadn’t seen it before and it seemed so persuasive.
