IHAVEANIDEA LAUNCHES PORTFOLIO NIGHT IN CANADA III
April 13 | 2005

ihaveanidea to mobilize Canada’s entire advertising industry for Portfolio Night in Canada III

Toronto, April 13 | 2005 - On May 17th ihaveanidea will be presenting Portfolio Night in Canada III, the largest simultaneous advertising portfolio review ever held in the world. To mark the third anniversary of the annual event, ihaveanidea has added three new cities to this year’s gathering. For 2005, Halifax, Edmonton and Calgary will be joining last year’s roster of Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Ottawa, to offer a total of seven review nights simultaneously in seven markets, with the combined goal of helping Canada’s budding young creatives.

Students enrolled in an advertising program, graduates and up-and-coming creatives will have the opportunity to spend valuable face-to-face time with an exclusive group of Canada’s leading creative directors and industry leaders. By offering advice to students on their portfolios and helping them improve their work, the goal of the event is to break down the boundaries between industry and education.

“When the rest of the world finds out that Canada’s advertising industry was mobilized on one day across 7 cities, 5 time zones, and 6,050 kilometers their perception of Canada’s amazing advertising industry will change forever. I’m not sure non-Canadians even know we have 7 cities, “ says ihaveanidea’s founder and director Ignacio Oreamuno. “we are very proud to lead this effort and even prouder to receive the generous support and sponsorship of the country’s leading industry partners. May 17th is going to be a historical day for Canada’s advertising industry.”

For $35 dollars, aspiring creatives, or juniors with an advertising portfolio can have their work reviewed by at least three creatives. Anyone interested in taking part in the event must register online at ihaveanidea’s Portfolio Night in Canada website, http://www.ihaveanidea.org/portfolionight2005 or http://www.ihaveanidea.org/soiredesportfolios in Montreal in Montreal.

Sponsors of ihaveanidea’s Portfolio Night in Canada include First Light, the Radio Marketing Bureau, TAXI, Reginald Pike, the Clio Awards, VCU Adcenter, Sharpe Blackmore, The CCL Group, ABM Research, Rethink, Grey Worldwide Northwest, adbeast and Push.

Young creatives are encouraged to attend one of the seven exciting events across the country, where they will have the opportunity to speak with a minimum of three world-class creative directors.
