IHAVEANIDEA BRINGS YOU THE WORLD'S BEST COMMERCIALS - COMMERCIAL FREE
September 12 | 2005
(TORONTO, September 5th 2005) ihaveanidea, Advertising's Intellectual Archive to celebrate the world's best advertising with its premiere of the 2005 Clio Awards Winner’s Reel Screening.
The premiere industry screening scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 20th at 7pm at the Royal Cinema, will showcase the best international advertising work from the 2005 Clio Awards, held earlier this year in South Beach, Miami.
The screening promises ground breaking never before seen commercials from around the globe. New to this year’s Clio screening is the 2005 Clio Hall of Fame spots which include work by Cliff Freeman & Partners and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, in addition to an incredible selection of gold, silver and bronze winners from both the print and radio categories.
Possibly the freshest addition to the show is the Content & Contact category winners, which is exclusive to the Clio Awards, and which is composed of work that displays innovation not just in creativity but also in the use of media.
Immediately following the premiere screening, ihaveanidea will host an industry exclusive private after-party at a soon to be announced location.
Promotion to the advertising community is supported by a print campaign, created by Associate Creative Director's, Stephen Leps and Aaron Starkman of Toronto's ZiG. The ad is a humorous yet blatant take on how important winning awards are in the advertising industry.
These ads will be distributed to agencies the week of September 5th.
“Bringing the Clio Reel to Canada is very important to ihaveanidea because it serves three purposes in our industry; Firstly, it’s a big bucket of cold water that inspires and refreshes creatives, account executives, clients, planners, directors, producers and everyone that is involved in the creation of advertising. Secondly, it serves as a thermometer of how good or bad we are doing in the international ad arena. Finally, it’s a big excuse to get all together, laugh, and have a good time as a community,” says Ignacio Oreamuno, Founder & Director of ihaveanidea.
All screenings will take place at the Royal Cinema (608 College Street, West of Bathurst). The industry premiere screening is scheduled to take place Tuesday 20th at 7pm. Screenings for the general public are scheduled for Wednesday, September 21st at 7pm, and Thursday, September 22nd at 9:45pm.
A student matinee will take place September 25th at 2pm, with a highlight presentation by Janet Kestin and Nancy Vonk, Co-Chief Creative Officer's at Ogilvy Toronto and authors‚ of the latest Adweek book release "Pick Me, Breaking into Advertising and Staying There."
Tickets can be purchased online at ihaveanidea (www.ihaveanidea.org), as well as at the door. The first 250 tickets sold for the premiere night on Tuesday, September 20th will gain access to the exclusive industry after-party.
Sponsors for this year's screening include, adbeast, NOW, First Light, and StudioM.
