THE CLIO AWARDS AND IHAVEANIDEA GO FOR THE GOLD!
January 17 | 2006
(TORONTO, Monday, January 16, 2006) The Clio Awards, the world's most recognized international advertising awards competition and ihaveanidea, Advertising's Intellectual Archive, are launching The Clio Awards Future Gold: Young Creatives Program to find the best junior creatives from around the world for the career experience of a lifetime. “For Clio to exclusively concentrate on today’s advertising and design would be shortsighted. Our commitment is to encourage the development of the next generation of creatives,” says Ami Brophy, executive director, Clio Awards. “Future Gold: Young Creatives Program was established three years ago to offer young creatives a rare opportunity to go from creative brief to presentation in a competitive environment within 24 hours – in other words, to provide a compressed advertising experience.”
ihaveanidea will carry out a global search to find 12 of the most talented junior copywriters and art directors from around the world. On April 3rd, these 12 applicants will be notified by Clio, and arrangements made for them to receive complimentary Clio Passports, granting admission to all Clio Festival events, as well as free lodging for three nights at one of Clio’s host hotels in South Beach, Miami.
"ihaveanidea's role in this prestigious Clio event is simple," says Ignacio Oreamuno, director, ihaveanidea, "to leave no stone unturned in finding the best juniors from around the world. Helping those at the bottom rank of our industry is something that is close to our hearts and the opportunity of competing at the festival will not just boost but also change the finalist's career. We are very excited to develop and to promote Future Gold."
On the morning of Sunday, May 14 , contestants will be paired into six teams and receive a creative brief. They will then have 24 hours to respond and make a preliminary presentation of their work to a panel of official 2006 Clio judges. The judges will provide feedback and select three finalist teams, who will then move on to make their final presentations to the client before Clio Festival delegates on Monday, May 15, at 12:30 pm. The winner will be selected by the client, with an award presented at the Clio Festival on Monday evening. Contest launches January 16th, winners will be announced on April 1, 2006 and is only open to junior copywriters and art directors from advertising agencies around the world. To be eligible to participate you must hold full-time employment as a junior art director or a junior copywriter in an ad agency.
