IHAVEANIDEA LAUNCHES 'HOW'D YOU GET IN?'
August 27 | 2008

(MONTREAL/TORONTO, AUGUST 27, 2008) ihaveanidea, Advertising's Intellectual Archive, proudly announces the launch of 'How'd you get in?' A bi-weekly column in ihaveanidea’s ACADEMIA section that will focus on a well known Creative Director and how he/she got into the business. Stories will all been penned by the Creative Directors themselves including Neil French, Steve Hayden, Lee Garfinkel, Ty Montague, Luke Sullivan, Andy Fackrell, Blake Ebel, Zak Mroueh and many more.

"The inspiration for this column came after a discussion I had with Arthur Shah. He mentioned that his first job in the business was at Ogilvy Toronto, in the Accounting Department - and now he's Associate Creative Director at Y&R. It occurred to me that if he has an interesting story, and I have an interesting story then there must be more people out there who made it into this business in an interesting way. “ says Brendan Watson, ihaveanidea’s Director of Education and Art Director at Y&R Toronto. "Most importantly though, the goal of this column is to inspire students trying to get their first job. ‘'How'd you get in?'’ will remind the students who are struggling to make it, ready to give up, that a lot of the people they admire went through the exact same thing. And hopefully it will push them to keep going."

The column launches today on www.ihaveanidea.org with: HOW'D YOU GET IN: NEIL FRENCH.
